VerifyRemote is a transparency platform for the remote-work era: a searchable directory where job seekers can look up a company, read community reviews, check a trust score, and report scams before they hand over their time or personal details.
We built the full platform — the searchable company database, the trust-scoring engine, community reviews and reporting, verified-ownership badges, and a remote salary calculator — into a fast, credible product people can rely on at the riskiest moment of a job search.
The challenge
Remote hiring exploded, and so did remote job scams. Fake 'employers' harvest personal data, run advance-fee schemes, or waste applicants' time with roles that don't exist. A job seeker has almost no fast way to tell a legitimate remote company from a fraudulent one — the information is scattered across review sites, forums, and gut feeling. The challenge was to concentrate that signal into one place and make it trustworthy enough to act on.
